Wednesday, February 22nd, bright morning sunshine with cloud cover.  Morning temperatures were in the high 30′s with an expected high of 49 degrees; 5 degrees warmer than yesterday.  Today’s & tomorrow’s forecast is mixed precipitation .  The ground in Fair Haven is still bare and looks like it will remain that way until Saturday when snow is expected.

Our Inn’s new heating system is working well!  In very cold weather the coal furnace will be the one of choice!  The Inn’s oil consumption is down with our new more efficient smaller boiler.  The old boiler is still working as back up.  Once the coal furnace is up and running our Inn will consume even less oil during the winter months.  The next step is to install radiators were radiators are missing.

Work is still progressing on Vt Rte 107 with a few stretches that have one lane traffic due to work shoring up the mountain side with heavy rock.  Ski resorts are open with only a few trails open.  Snow making is in full force when temperatures are cold enough.  Pico is only open Thursday through Monday.

Our Inn’s afternoon February low teas are going to include scones and chocolate chip cookies. Tea is served at 4 p.m..

If Greek American cuisine is your style, the Fair Haven Inn is only a 5 minute walk from the Inn and serves the finest fish & seafood available at any price in the area.

The Lake House Bar & Grill Restaurant right on the water’s edge of Lake Bomoseen is open for their winter hours so if you come up to visit, please stop in and get a bite to eat on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  They are closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  The Lake House is an approximate 12 minute drive from our Inn.
